• School Health Advisory Council (SHAC) is an advisory group of individuals who represent segments of the community.  The group acts collectively to provide advice to the school system on aspects of the school health program. 

    The components of a school health program include health instructions, health services, physical education, school counseling, child nutrition, food service, staff wellness promotion, parent and community involvement, along with a healthy and safe school environment. The KCISD School Health Advisory Council consists of parents, students, community leaders, local health officials, as well as KCISD administrators, nurses, food service director, safety director, counselors and teaching staff.

    There will be 4 to 5 meetings each school year. In accordance with new H.B. No. 1525, the agenda of each meeting must be posted (containing the date, hour and location of meeting) on a bulletin in the central administrative office of each campus. Additionally, the agenda will be posted on the district website.
