Mr. Jimmy Lopez

Mr. Lopez is a 2017 graduate of Karnes City High school where he actively participated in Band, Art, UIL Journalism & Academics, and NHS. After graduating from KCHS, Mr Lopez pursued a degree in Music Education from Texas Lutheran University.

While at TLU, Mr. Lopez was an active member of the TLU Wind Ensemble, The Hounds of Sound Pep Band, TLU Clarinet Choir, and the Splinter Reed Quintet. He studied clarinet with Professor Paula Corley and studied under many top notch music faculty including Beth Bronk, Eric Daub, Carol Brittin Chambers, Scott McDonald, and Eliza Jeffords. He also participated in the startup of ClariNetworks, hosted from 2018-2020 by Paula Corley, and had the opportunity to work with and collaborate with many high calibre musicians, including Clarinetists Felix Peikli, David Gould, Borris Allakheverdyan and Bass Clarinetist Michael Lowenstern.

Mr. Lopez began his teaching career in KCISD in 2022 and currently resides in Floresville, TX. His professional affiliations include the Texas Music Educator's Association, Texas Bandmaster's Association, The Association of Texas Small School Bands, and Tau Beta Sigma. Mr Lopez is currently an active member of the Heart of Texas Concert Band and performs monthly concerts for audiences in the San Antonio area.
