  • A Little About Me

I was born in San Antonio, raised in Floresville and graduated in 1996. After graduation, I quickly jumped into the workforce, and then two years later, I joined the United States Navy. I completed 6.5 years in active duty and then 1.5 years as a reservist. After serving my time working at sea, I took a position as recruiter for Naval Recruiting District San Antonio. I spent just a little over three years in the recruiting field. I had the ability to serve a Navy recruiter for the following schools: Pearsall, Devine, Somerset, Southside, Pleasanton, Jourdanton, Charlotte, McCollum, South San, Burbank, Floresville, Poth, Falls City, Karnes City, Kenedy, Runge and Poteet.

After I completed my active duty contract with the Navy, I made my decision to return to civilian life. I took a job working in the QSR industry managing a restaurant. I spent almost eight years working in that industry. I then changed industries and took a management position working in the retail industry. I spent two years working in that industry. It was during my times working in the management field that I decided that I needed to return to school to complete my degree.

Two years after enrolling back into school, I earned my Bachelor's of Science degree in Technical Management. Fifteen months after earning my Bachelor's degree, I earned my Masters of Information Systems Management degree. Also after completing my Master's degree, I had the opportunity to start my first year of teaching at Karnes City High School. I taught only part-time since I was already working in the Technology Department. I taught Business Information Management I and Dual Credit Business Computer Information Systems (for CBC & KC Early College HS). In 2017, I took on my current full time position as High School CTE Teacher and Academic Adjunct Instructor for CBC. I am delighted to be a part of a great campus team here at Karnes City High School, and I am looking forward to preparing our future generation to be technology ready for any of their future educational and/or career path(s) that they choose.

    Why Teach?

I do have a passion for sharing my knowledge with others so that they can become successful either now or in the future. Below are a few reasons why I chose this new path in my career:

    1. To encourage students to be successful in all that they do.
    2. To be a positive role model so that my students are prepared to be successful in their future educational and working careers.
