  • A Little About Me

My family has been a KC Badger family since 2006. I have been employed with Karnes City ISD since 2013. My wife also works for KCISD in the library at the Primary Campus.  We have three wonderful children (all Badgers). Our oldest graduated from KCHS in 2017 and is attending Texas Lutheran University and is pursuing a degree in Music Education. We have a son that is a Freshman at KCHS and our daughter is in 5th grade at Roger E. Sides.

I was born in San Antonio, Texas. I was raised in Floresville, Texas and graduated in 1996. After graduation, I joined the United States Navy. I completed 6.5 years in active duty and then 1.5 years as a reservist. After serving my time working at sea, I took a position as recruiter for Naval Recruiting District San Antonio. I spent just a little over three years in the recruiting field. I had the ability to serve a Navy recruiter for the following schools: Pearsall, Devine, Somerset, Southside, Pleasanton, Jourdanton, Charlotte, McCollum, South San, Burbank, Floresville, Poth, Falls City, Karnes City, Kenedy, Runge and Poteet.

After I completed my active duty contract with the Navy, I made my decision to return to civilian life. I took a job working in the QSR industry managing a restaurant. I spent almost eight years working in that industry. I then changed industries and took a management position working in the retail industry. I spent two years working in that industry. It was during my times working in the management field that I decided that I needed to return to school to complete my degree so that I can become I teacher to share all the knowledge that I have learned with the future of our society.

Two years after enrolling back into school, I earned my Bachelor's of Science degree in Technical Management. Since I was actually utilizing my VA Educational benefits, I decided to complete my Master's degree that way I can also obtain a teaching position working in post-secondary education. Fifteen months after earning my Bachelor's degree, I earned my Masters of Information Systems Management. Also after completing my Master's degree, I had the opportunity to start my first year of teaching at Karnes City High School. I taught only part-time since I was already working in the Technology Department. I taught Business Information Management I and Dual Credit Business Computer Information Systems (for CBC & KC Early College HS). In the summer of 2017, I had the opportunity to accept a full-time teaching position and was very excited that it was still with KCISD. I am delighted to be a part of a great campus team here at Karnes City High School, and I am looking forward to preparing our future generation to be technology ready for the future.

    Why Teach?

I have been asked several times why did I choose to become a teacher. I do have a passion for sharing my knowledge with others so that they can become successful either now or in the future. Below are a few reasons why I chose this new path in my career:

    1. To encourage students to be successful in all that they do.
    2. To be a positive role model so that my students are prepared to be successful in their future educational and working careers.
