Meet our
Principal
Julie J. Braun, RES Elementary
Principal
Your new principal, Julie Jauer
Braun, was born right here in Karnes City. She
graduated from Karnes City High School in 1984. She was
one of the first Highsteppers at Karnes City. She went
to South Texas State University and received a Bachelor
of Arts degree in 1989. Mrs. Braun taught reading at
Kenedy Middle School her first six years of teaching.
She then helped start Karnes County Academy, the
county’s alternative school. She was a teacher and
later the Principal of Karnes County Academy. She
received her Masters of Education degree from the
University of Houston in Victoria in 2003. Mrs. Braun
came to work in Karnes City two years ago as the 21st
Century Director, and this last year she was the
District Curriculum Director. Mrs. Braun is married to
Coach Braun, who coaches girl’s basketball and teaches
at the Junior High. She has three boys, Bucky, Brady and
Blake.
A Note
from the Principal:
Hello All,
I am
so excited to be the new principal of Roger E. Sides
Elementary. I went to Karnes City Elementary school and
so did my two sons, my mother and even my grandfather.
I feel like we all received a great education, and I
would just like to continue that strong tradition of
excellence.
The
staff at Roger E. Sides is one of the best in the state.
They work so hard for students, and I know I will enjoy
working with them.
I
believe so strongly in education. An education and
hard work can get one anything that one desires in
life. I am a life-long learner and hope for our school
to give students the love of learning that my education
instilled in me.
I
can’t wait until August to see all of my new students!
