The Texas
Independence Trail Region is part of the Texas Historical
Commission's Heritage Trails Program. This organization began
operating in January of 2000. Through regional partnerships with
preservation and tourism promotion organizations, the goal of the Texas
Independence Trail Region is to share the state's prominent independence
heritage and to establish this region as a recognizable tourism
destination.
